It is that time to start booking your 2017 Disney World vacation. Why? Because Disney is offering their Free Dining Plan if you book before July 7th. This is HUGE savings!!
But, I get it, Disney is so overwhelming. What is the Magic Your Way package? Do you need a Park Hopper? How many FastPass+ do you get? Where do you stay? As magical as Disney is, you and your family will enjoy it so much more if you know what you are doing.
First of all, Orlando offers properties on and off the resort. Although off-resort hotels are accommodating, even providing free shuttles to the park, the Disney resorts offer a little more pixie dust in your stay. This includes complimentary Disney transportation, extra hours at the park, early FastPass+ access, complimentary Magic Bands and easy access to your resort for when your kiddos are losing their s*it and need some down time.
Disney is made up of four parks. How many days you need to cover the property will depend on how many little legs will be trying to keep up with you. Remember that Magic Kingdom will most likely take the most time (at least a full day), while the remaining parks will take as little as less than a day, each. This is where the Park Hopper comes into play. You can start your day at Magic Kingdom to get on Peter Pan’s Flight but finish at Hollywood Studio for their Star Wars: The Galactic Spectacular Fireworks show.
What about feeding your kids (and yourself)? This tends to be the most stressful decision for many of my clients (which is why the Free Dining is AWESOME). First thing to know is the difference between Quick-Service Dining and Table-Service Dining. Quick-Service is when you order your food at a window then find a table to sit down. Table-Service is when you have a waiter that brings your meal to you. Disney offers 3 dining plans:
- Quick-Service Dining Plan: Includes (2) Quick-Service meals, (2) snacks and a refillable drink mug each
- Dining Plan: Includes (1) Table-Service meal, (1) Quick-Service meal, (2) snacks and a refillable drink mug each
- Deluxe Dining Plan: (3) meals (Quick-Service or Table-Service), (2) snacks, and a refillable mug each
For my family, Quick-Service would suffice, but I like sitting at a table at the end of a long day and have someone take care of us, so the Dining Plan is more my style. Now, unless you have growing teenagers that eat nonstop, I would think the Deluxe Dining Plan is too much.
I barely touched the tip of the iceberg and could write an entire article on the differences in resorts, alone, however, we can discuss all that when you call me to take advantage of the Free Dining Plan. Talk to you soon!
