This year I have told my extended family and kids that we are minimizing the zillion presents under the tree for more activities that we share together. What better way to share togetherness than exploring a new destination. Here is a list of locations that are perfect for the holiday season, without giving up the traditions.

You will rarely wait for a chair on the mountain and, with so many slopeside lodges, you are always walking distance form a lift. Big Sky Resort is ideal for families, offering great ski lessons for the kiddos. Big Sky purchased its sister resort Moonlight Basin, making the stay at Big Sky a never-ending exploration. In fact, Christmas cruises are among the most popular family getaways for all generations to enjoy offering an on-board experience that will make you feel right at home. The great thing about cruises is that you get to see a lot of ground without unpacking. That means you can bring gifts to open on those magical days.
