Our Adventures at Beaches, Turks & Caicos

I just got back from the most amazing mother/daughter vacation with my sweet daughter, Kyleigh. Destination: Turks and Caicos. That’s right, we booked a beautiful room at the Beaches resort and spent the entire weekend eating great food, swimming in beautiful, warm waters and going to the most relaxing spa. I have been to many resorts in my day, but Beaches Turks and Caicos was, by far, one of my favorite kid-friendly resorts. Check out my highlights and why I would recommend this resort to families looking for a great getaway with their kiddos.

The Beach

You cannot ask for a better beach. In fact, the beach at Beaches Turks and Caicos is rated the #1 Best Beach IN THE WORLD! The sand is so, so soft, it is like walking on baby powder. The beach, itself, is clean of seaweed and the water really is that beautiful turquoise color. Beaches Turks and Caicos knows how beautiful their beach is and they want you to enjoy it to the fullest. The resort provides you unlimited, (complimentary) water skiing, wakeboarding, banana boats, sailing, snorkeling, Underwater Vision Glass Bottom Boats and Body Boarding.

The Spa

My daughter, Kyleigh, was beside herself with excitement during her time at the Red Lane Spa. She loved being pampered and she adored her massage therapist. This was Kyleigh’s first time at a spa. The staff did a great job tailoring the treatment to Kyleigh and even arranged for us to be in the same room together for added comfort. We could not have asked for a better experience!

The Kid’s Club

I wasn’t planning on Kyleigh spending much time, if any, in the Kid’s Camp because it was just me and her. We weren’t on vacation for me to stick her in ‘day care.’ This, however, changed when I check out the schedule. Snorkeling Lessons, Dance Party, Nature Walk, Tennis Lessons, Beach Science Experiment, Boat Cruise. I mean, these are real deal (complementary) activities that the kids can walk away from saying that they did something new and special. I put Kyleigh in for a few hours because she really wanted to take snorkeling lessons. She was begging to go back to Kid’s Camp the next day. Also, Beaches is one of the few resorts that takes itty bittys, yeah, your newborn. Beaches has accredited nannies for all ages!

The Food

There are 22 specialty dining options on the resort. Now, I am one of those moms who want my children to try everything. I love food, and was not about to sit at a pizzeria every night or hunt down French Fries that are made just right. I thought this was going to be a battle with my picky eater, but she absolutely embraced it and she was able to find things to eat at every restaurant!

Our first meal was literally in the sand during the Beach Party. All the restaurants contributed to the buffet, so you got a sampling of everything. It was absolutely perfect. I loved Sky restaurant. It was picture-perfect for lunch with the great view of the turquoise water, plus, the staff at Sky was incredibly eager to get Kyleigh a Kiddie Cocktail. My FAVORITE was Bombay, the Indian restaurant. What I loved about Bombay was that they didn’t take your order, they just brought you all their delicious food to eat family style. I walked away mighty full after that dinner!

The Water Park

The Lazy River, the Surf Simulator, the waterslides, the splash pad…all perfect for my daughter and myself! We had so much fun enjoying the water that we barely noticed the liquid sunshine that was dripping from the clouds. Midway through, we got a little hungry (for ice cream, of course) and went to the cutest little ice cream truck for the best desserts a girl can have while sitting at a little table.

The Entertainment

The Sesame Street gang was fantastic. They put on performances at night and made appearances during the day. Every night the resort had something going on from movies outside, to talent shows and beach parties. Boredom was not an option.
